# How to complete KYC
**KYC (Know Your Customer)** — is a mandatory identity check that gives access to all service features. It is a standard for financial services: thanks to it, your account is protected, and we can be sure that the cards are being used by you. **To complete KYC, one of the following documents will do:**
* Passport
* International passport
* Driver's license
> It is better to use an international passport — the system processes such documents faster and with fewer errors. A driver's license sometimes causes errors during verification.
**Verification time:** usually takes **5-10 minutes**but in rare cases it may take longer.
### Step 1: How to proceed to verification
1. Go to the [mini-app](https://telegram.me/WantToPayBot?start=w17851188--luMLI).
2. Click the Complete verification.
3. If you have already provided your email and confirmed your phone number, click Continue. If you have not yet gone through these steps, you can read about them in the [Registration](https://faq.wanttopay.net/wanttopay-app/s-chego-nachat/registraciya-v-wanttopay).

### Step 2: Region selection and document upload
1. In the Verification section, click the `Continue` .
2. Select `All countries except USA`.
3. In the Verification section, click the `Continue`.
4. Select your country and document to continue verification.
5. In the `Upload your document` section, select a photo of the document.
### Step 3: Photo verification
1. In the Get Your Camera Ready section, click `Continue`.
2. In the Allow Camera Access section, click `Continue`.
3. Click `Allow` to allow `Sumsub` access to your smartphone camera.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete photo verification.
5. Wait a few seconds for your data verification to complete.
6. Congratulations, you can now proceed to card issuance.

**The service is restricted in a number of countries and territories. These include Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Ukraine, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.**

### How to prepare documents for verification

**Recommendations for completing KYC:**\

✅ Find a well-lit place\
✅ Make sure there are no glare and shadows\
✅ The document and face should be in focus\
✅ The text on the document must be easy to read\
\
Do not use:
🚫 Photos with filters or edited images\
🚫 Expired documents\
🚫 Copies or screen scans\
🚫 Photos where the document is covered by fingers\
🚫 Glasses, a mask, or headwear

### Can't complete KYC: what to do?
#### Error #V001
Code **#V001** means that verification was not completed. This code does not indicate a specific reason for refusal — the exact reason may not be available even from the verification provider.

#### Can the check be done again / can KYC be reset?
Yes, to do this contact [support](https://t.me/WantToPaySupportBot). We will forward the request for an additional check. If repeating KYC is possible, the form will be reset and recommendations for further steps will be sent.
#### The wrong country is specified in the form
You cannot change the region or country in the form yourself. If you entered the data incorrectly, contact [support](#v-ankete-ukazana-nepravilnaya-strana).
