Note. This section is required for those who do not yet have an account on the service.

1. Go to the website https://platform.openai.com, and in the upper right corner click “Sign Up”.
2. Choose a convenient sign-in method: Google, Microsoft, Apple. Or enter your email address.

How to top up your Open AI balance: paying for credits

After the API key Open AI is created, all that remains to start using it is to purchase credits.

Note. Without this step, the key will not work, since API access is paid based on the volume of requests.

1. After creating the key, you will be taken to a window where you can add credits; choose the desired top-up amount: $5, $10, or $20 credits. Then click “Purchase credits” or choose “I’ll buy credits later” to add credits later.
2. In the pop-up window, enter the virtual card details and the billing address from your Wanttopay account, as well as your first and last name in Latin characters, then click “Add payment method”. The charge will be made automatically and the credits will be added to your account.

Important. Do not select the option “I’m purchasing as business”, to avoid a $5 hold on the card for linking the card for up to 7 business days.

If you selected the option “I’ll buy credits later” the account top-up process will be different.

1. Go to https://platform.openai.com and log in to your account by clicking “Sign Up” in the upper right corner. If you did not log out of your account on the service and did not use incognito mode when registering, you will be taken to your account automatically when following the link.
2. Click “Settings” to the left of your profile avatar in the upper right corner.
3. Then in the left menu find and select “Billing”. In the “Overview” tab, click “Add to credit balance” under the account balance.

1. Enter the virtual card details, your first and last name in Latin letters, and the billing address from your Wanttopay account. After filling in all the required information, make sure the option “Set as default payment method” is not selected and click on “Add payment method”.
2. Next, after opening the new window, in the field “Amount to add” enter the top-up amount you need from $5 to $85. Make sure the correct card is selected as the payment method and click “Continue”.
3. To complete the payment, click “Confirm payment” and wait for the process to finish.

Important. When topping up the account, do not select the option “Set as default payment method” to avoid a $5 hold on the card for up to 7 business days for adding a default card.

If the payment process was successful, a Billing window will open with a pop-up notification “Payment successful!”. The credits will immediately be credited to your Open AI account. Refresh the page to update the balance.

You can also open the “Billing History”tab to make sure the charge really was successful. Click “View” next to the payment to get the receipt and view the invoice payment details.

You will receive a notification in the chatbot and the transaction will appear in the Wanttopay mini-app; a payment receipt will also be sent to the email used to sign in to OpenAI.
